The program begun in February 2018. It targets school drop outs and form four leavers in the county in a goal to empower the lot to join institutions of higher learning by addressing issues of perception on poverty, opportunities available to Kilifi youths academically, training on scholarship application and linkages.
Kilifi County at the coast region of Kenya records the lowest academic performance according to national statistics, only 13% of Kilifi county residents attained secondary level of education and above. The situation is contributed by various factors such as high rate of poverty, early pregnancy and structural inadequacy. The case is evidenced with the recorded low transition rate to institution of higher learning i.e. colleges, polytechnics or universities.
