Teenage and early pregnancy is viewed as a social issue that most of the time impacts negatively to the affected individuals and families for generations. Despite the supportive and accommodative education policies in Kenya, only 50% of young parents graduate primary and high school, lagging far behind their non-parenting peers, (Linea et,2012).
Mentor Mama Program is designed to address the prevalent issues of teen and early parenthood, family planning and education. Young mothers (14-24) face a lot of challenges during their education period including stigma and segregation.
Unfortunately, most of them rarely receive perinatal care. Mentorship done to these mothers will help them restore hope, gain resilience and adopt to their new status to complete their education. Additionally, it will help them understand themselves and their reproductive health. The participants will gain a sense of hope that they are able to pursue their dreams despite their difficult situations
